GRIMM           Go on then worm, back to your brother. (SCROGGS release ALICE). You can give each other comfort for Christmas - it’s all you’re going to get! Watch them closely, it’s almost time for the chimes.  (exits) 

BILLY              You all right Al? 

ALICE              I’ll live. 

FAYE               Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as they make out. It’s just a lot of noise and threatening, that’s all. 

ALICE              You’ve been through it before? 

FAYE               (ruefully)  Only six times. 

BILLY              Six? What about you? 

MATT              This’ll be my fifth. 

ALICE              You poor things! 

BILLY              Have you got any coins this year? 

MATT              I’ve got two.  (shows them) 

FAYE               Me too. I’ve never been this close before. 

ALICE              I wish we could help you, but we’ve only got one coin, and it’d be so unfair on the other one of you. 

MATT              Don’t worry, we’re used to disappointments. 

FAYE               I know you’d help us if you could. You’re really kind. 

TREV              Wait! I nearly forgot. (reaches in pocket and takes out coin) This is yours, I found it back there at the Frablings’ camp. You won it for fighting the Scroggs to save your sister! (gives coin to BILLY) 

BILLY             Wow! My own coin! I was so brave, wasn’t I? (all eyes are on him) What? I won it fair and square! I took a hiding for this coin! I got beaten black and blue! It’s mine!
