| The Prince And The Pauper, Sample 4: Class 6M are discussing Tom's appearance at the Royal Banquet. |
|
ANDREW Good old Prince, I knew he’d get away. BEN Yeah, but he’s still got to get back to the Palace .... DEBBIE .... and convince them that he’s the real Prince. SARAH That’s if Tom hasn’t been found out yet. We don’t know what went on at the Royal Banquet yet. SUSAN Yeah, what happened at the banquet miss? What did they have to eat? A nice plate of sausage and mash? DEBBIE Did they get a McDonalds in? ANDREW Or have some deep pan pizzas delivered? DAVID Or did they send out for a Balti? TEACH Of course not. Feasts in those days would consist mostly of plates of roasted meats - beef, chicken, pork and venison. ANDREW What’s venison miss? TEACH It’s deer. ANDREW I bet it’s not as dear as beef miss, you should’ve heard my mum going on in Tesco’s last week! SARAH She means it’s the meat from a deer, you wally! ANDREW Ugh! I wouldn’t touch that! I’d have just had the chips and alphabetti spaghetti instead. It’s good that stuff, you can make words with it. (writing in air with finger) “Tom Canty woz ere” maybe, except sometimes it’s hard to find ‘z’s. I reckon someone down at the factory eats them all up when they’re putting them in the cans. (exasperated looks from everyone) What??? |
