It is impossible to give an absolutely accurate cost for editing any text without actually seeing it. The cost will depend on:

                 a)    the length of the text. While this will affect cost, it is not the most important factor.

                 b)    the complexity of the text. Highly technical documents require a greater amount of time, and so cost is higher.

                 c)    the quality of the English. Obviously, if the English in the document is of a high standard, then editing is easier and cost lower. If    the English contains many grammatical and structural errors, editing takes longer and is therefore more expensive.

The following is a very rough guide to help you estimate the cost of editing your document:

                   Express editing  (good standard of English, non-technical text) ...................................................... £8 - £9 per 1000 words

                   Advanced editing  (more work needed due to quality of English or technical nature of text) ............. £10 - £13 per 1000 words
